The CyberSpark agent

CyberSpark agents monitor to help prevent abuse of free speech and human rights sites.

If you’re seeing this

If you’re viewing this page, it’s most likely because you are a webmaster or system administrator wondering what our agent is doing reading your web site. You probably found entries in your log files indicating that we’re looking at your site a couple of times an hour or so.

Feel free to read the other pages of this site, but in brief:

—the CyberSpark.net agent reads pages using an HTTP GET on a scheduled basis.

This is being done at the request of a real human being—usually someone associated with your organization or web site.

Because we were asked to monitor specific pages, we don’t pay attention to robots.txt. We also do not “spider” — we read only one, or a very few, URLs from a site.

We don’t do anything harmful to the site, and in fact we’re protecting you because we’re watching for signs that the site has been tampered with.

If you want us to stop, please send an email to us telling us the URL we were visiting and your contact info. When we hear from you we will stop monitoring as quickly as possible.
